He's A Cool Kid

Hello Farmers!!!  Rachel here with you today, and I wanted to share a card with you today that I made for my nephew's birthday!

Yep, I had to break out the BOY stamps!!  LOL!  I love my boy stamps, but I just don't seem to reach for them as much as I should.  I get in a pretty big girl rut, and that is probably due to the fact that I have two daughters.  It's really nice to change things up a bit, and maybe reach for the wood and metal embellies vs the ribbon and flowers!

IMG_1731
Now this is one classic, cool dude!!
Copics used-
Skin- E13, E21, E51, E50, V01 (eyes B02)
Hair- YR21, YR23, YR24, E27
Clothes- C9, C7, C5, C3, C1
B26, B24, B21
Y26, Y28
(outlined in W5, W3, W1)

Obviously the first thing you want to do is to look for masculine, or neutral papers to use.  Then I usually stick to basic shapes for layering. (no hearts!!)  And when it comes to embellishing, I grab: wood, metal, enamel dots, and some cool die cuts!

I really enjoyed making this card, and need several more to have on hand!

Hope this gives you a little crafty inspiration!

LDRS Creative Dies And Image

So happy to have you here, and I wanted to share a card I made with an image and dies from LDRS Creative!

This image is Violet Vintage from Saturated Canary.

I colored her with Copic Sketch markers in the
following colors:

Skin- E13, E21, E00, E000, V01 (BG000 for the lens)
Hair- E11, E21, E09, E18
Clothes- R39, R37, R35, R32, R30
C3, C1, 0
E44, E43, E42

After coloring her, I cut her our with the Basic Pierced Ovals.  I then
matted the image with the next size up pierced oval.  I used Distress Ink
on the edges of both pieces.  A few pearl drops around the image for
a girly/vintage vibe!
Next I ran some red cardstock through the full Gilded Embossing Folder.
After the cardstock was embossed, I used a sponge dauber and Distress Ink
(Vintage Photo) to ink the raised portions of the design.
I attached the embossed card base to my A2 card, and used brads on the
corners.  I wanted a little more embellishment, so I cut out the piece at the
bottom with the Gilded Oval Die Set, and also used Distressed Ink on it.
After I got everything into place just like I wanted, I finished her off
with some gorgeous handmade paper flowers from I Am Roses.
(And just a little bling!)

I used Bear Hugs from the adorable Mama Elephant stamp line!

I colored these guys up with some Copic markers, using
the E's- E50, E51, E53, E55.
After coloring them in, I went back and added light
dots on the shaded parts of them.  After adding dots with
the browns I used, I then went back over all of it with my
colorless blender.  It adds a bit of texture!

Pig-Out Sunday

Scroll down for my TGF post!!!

Happy Sunday!!!  Rachel here with you today, and I wanted to share a card I made using awesome supplies from 7 Kids College Fund!

Here's a Cute Critters stamp from Stamping Bella Called "Especially For You Petunia"-

Sweetest little pig ever!!!!

I like to use the peachy E's when I color up a pig-

E97, E95, E93
R00 & E93 (for the ears and snout)

I cut the image out with a stitched circle die from Lawn Fawn,
but first I cut out the top of his ear to stick out from the circle.

I also used a few different pieces of my Blueprints sets from
My Favorite Things to create the layout.

Supplies used-

I hope this gives you a little crafty inspiration to finish off your weekend!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
