Well post something already!!

Right!  Geez, this back to school stuff is ca-razy!!!  Both of my girls seem very happy with school this year, fingers crossed!!

I have a little nephew who will be celebrating his 5th birthday soon!  He is just one of the best little kiddos, I love being around him.

It's impossible to tell from the pic, but I used Glossy Accents all over the fish bowl to make it look like glass!  It looks super cool wet, hopefully it will look just as cool when it dries! (letting that sucker sit over-night!)  I used an old piece of October Afternoon paper that I have had sitting around forever for the background paper.  Added a bunch of stars, shocker. (the go-to embelly for boy cards)  I also wet embossed the sentiment with a glittery embossing powder.

Copics used-

Skin- E50, E000, E00, E21, E11
Hair- Y11, Y21, E31
Sweater- R46, R39, R24, R22
Patch- G21, G24
Jeans- B21, B24

Oh yeah, can you dig it!?  I used fun-loving Yumi Peace Sign on my card.

The patterned peace sign paper I used on this is from Hobby Lobby's The Paper Studio line.  I really had no rhyme or reason on this, just added a bunch of little fun bits I had laying around.  I used my fun Smash label maker for the "Peace" sentiment.

If I could just...catch....up....

Ever feel like your working like crazy and getting absolutely nowhere!!  That's what the last two weeks have felt like to me!  Maybe once the girls are back in school, and everyone is into a normal routine, things will slow down...maybe?

I have a Some Odd Girl card today.  It's been in my room, collecting dust.  It kind of reminds me of September/fall.  I love fall, it's my favorite season.

 This is Kite Flying Mae.

Copics used.

I can't tell you the last time I actually flew a kite, but I like the idea!  I used a couple different papers from some of my My Mind's Eye pads.  The bird on the pennant is from October Afternoon.  The button is from Basic Grey, and the Celebrate sentiment sticker is from Jillibean.  It's pretty simple, but I like it.

Hope you all have a "kite-flying" kind of weekend!

Feeling a little Twilight-ish today..

I spent yesterday re-watching the first Breaking Dawn movie with my girls.  Do you think they could've spaced these movies any further apart?!  And don't get me started on Kristen Stewart.  It will be nice to get some closure on this series in November when the final movie comes out.  Then I will spend my time waiting for the rest of the Hunger Games movies!!  lol!!  So, until will get to watch the final movie of one of our favorite book series, here's a little Twilight love...

This image is from Saturated Canary, and it's called "My Twilight Mama".
(which is a category most of us fit under!)

I kept this card very simple, I wanted the focus on the image.  My husband's sister's birthday is this month, and she is the one who started the Twilight addiction in our family.  (this couldn't be a more appropriate image for her!)  I used some black/white polka dot paper from Hobby Lobby, and paired it with the red to use colors from the Twilight books.  Some of you may recall the apple on the front of the very first book, so I used a Cuttlebug apple die to incorporate some of the image from the book onto the card.  After I cut out the apple, I used a black colored pencil to shade the apple a bit.  I used a sentiment from The Greeting Farm's Lucky Bunnies set on the apple, and wet embossed it with black.  I think this image is hilarious!!

I didn't list my copics, because after coloring two people, the pile was so big and I couldn't remember what color went where!  lol!  Sorry!

Last week of summer for my girls, and then back to school with them! (and me)  I will be interested to see how much I get done during the day with them going back.  There is nowhere I'd rather have them than here with me, but when they start arguing....

Purse tutorial

Hey there fellow bloggies!!  I have a quick post for today to explain how I got little miss Kaylee's purse on her in this pic-
This is Kaylee's Closet, a new stamp set over at Some Odd Girl.

So here's what I did-

First, cut out the purse that I stamped on some fun patterned paper.
Bear with me, some of these pics came out really "crap-tastic".  And
obviously this poor thing wasn't completely colored/dressed yet.

Next, I lined up the purse where I wanted it to sit on her shoulder.

Using a pen, I continued her arm lines from both the top and bottom of her purse until they met, making her arm magically appear on the purse.

Now I just cut right on my lines that I created, and took out that part of the purse so that you see her arm through that slot!

Ta-da!  Once you line it back up on her shoulder, you can go in and trim anything else that might be in your way.

Hope this works for ya!!!

TGIF everyone!!

Last, but definitely not least...

A girl can never have too many clothes, right? (no such thing!)  Well I am back with Kaylee from Some Odd Girl, and there is still one outfit to show off!!

Here's Summer Treats!

She is so yummy!!

Just when you thought it couldn't get any cuter...here she is in all of her summer glory!  The dress, popsicle, flower, and sentiment are all from this set!  This time I only paper pieced her dress, the rest were colored in with copics.  The patterned paper is from Echo Park's So Happy Together pad.  This is one versatile lady!  You know you want her...

If you still haven't checked out all of the cool releases, head on over to Some Odd Girl and get them while they're hot!

Fun Y&F tutorial

Scroll down for the Some Odd Girl New Release post!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have posted a tutorial on the Yumi & Fumi blog that shows you how I made this gift card holder-

So swing by if you are looking for a fun project to do today!

And the fun just keeps coming....

Did you LOVE Kaylee's Closet from Some Odd Girl?  Well there's even more fun clothes where that came from!  How about a little Party Time???!!!

I know, right?!  Too stinkin' cute!!

Now, in addition to all of the fantastic clothes Kaylee comes with, there is a Party Time clothes set for her!  The balloons, cake, dress, hat, and sentiment were all from this set of clothes.  The dress, and one of the balloons were paper pieced, the rest I colored with copics.  I am not normally a big paper piece-r, but with all of these things being their own individual stamp, it makes paper piecing a lot faster!  This fun patterned paper is from October Afternoon's Cakewalk pad! (luv it)

So what are you waiting for?  Get on over to Some Odd Girl, and get Kaylee and all of her gorgeous outfits!

Another Great SOG New Release

I don't know if you can handle this next awesome clear stamp set from Some Odd Girl.....you ready??  Ok, lets take a peek at Kaylee's Closet!!!

Isn't she ab-fab!!

This little lady comes with a TON of clothes!!  Remember playing with paper dolls, well this is even better!!!!  On this card I used a pair of shorts, a cute tank, a purse, and a flower for her hair.  Everything on her was paper pieced.  (I colored her skin, eyes, hair, of course.)  The patterned paper is from Echo Park's So Happy Together pad.  There are just too many possibilities for outfits, it's way better than my own closet!  LOL!  She is 2 die 4!

If you haven't looked yet, get on over to Some Odd Girl and get a good look at all of the fun new releases!!

Thanks for stopping by!

New Release Day at SOG!!

Have you heard the news?  Some Odd Girl has a couple of fantastic new clear stamp releases today!!!  Yippee!!  (Don't ya just love the first of the month!?)

Today we are showcasing the oh so cute Preppy Pups set.  There are 3 gorgeous little pups in this set, and a ton of accessories!!!!  This is a must-have for all you dog lovers out there!

Here's a card for you to check out one of the cute pups!!

This was the first time I have tried stamping directly onto the card base, no layers.  That's the nice thing about clear stamps though, you can see exactly where you're going!!  I have a whole container of tiny pom-poms that were just begging to be used, so he got a fuzzy little hat topper!  I paper-pieced his bone out of brown dog bone patterned paper, and his little polka dot party hat.  The sentiment also comes with the set, it's perfect!

If you love him, or would like to get a jump on the other new releases, swing by SOG and check them out!

Itty Bitty

I was able to squeeze in a fun card for The Greeting Farm's Splitcoast Stampers challenge!  I decided to use one of the adorable little "sitters" that I haven't had a chance to ink up yet!

Here's the sketch for this week-
Here's what I came up with!

This little baby doll is from the Sitting Lovely set.

I know, it's tiny, but darn, that's the biggest circle shape nestie I have!  I actually like how tiny it is, it's pretty cute if I do say so myself!  She has a bench, but there is no way that sucker was fitting on here! lol!  I used some fun paper from my Pebbles Sunnyside pad.  I used that paper because I also want to enter her into the Anyone For Anya challenge, which is "Last Summer Fling"!  I wet embossed the sentiment on kraft paper. (that sentiment comes with her)  I zig-zag stitched the ribbon running across the middle, then added a bow and button.  Last, but not least, a little teal flower with leaves, and a pink butterfly cut from a Cuttlebug die.  This was so fun, I might make another little one like this!!
