A little more Christmas.

Everyone enjoying the Olympics?!  We watched quite a bit of the action yesterday, it's so exciting!  Hunter was over the moon when the Canadian girls soccer team won yesterday! (she's obsessed with Canada!)  I also spent the day doing some stuff around the house that needed some serious attention.  Moved lots of furniture around, purged old stuff from Maddie's room, etc.  Feels good to get those projects done.  Now, I need to seriously paint some walls! (yuck)

When I decided to do the Christmas challenge over at Anyone For Anya, I pushed myself to make a few more Christmas cards.

This was a tree stamp from Rubbernecker.  It's a nice rustic looking card.

I stamped the tree twice, then cut both out and added a little brown distress ink around the edges of it.  I popped up the top one with 3D dots, then gave it some liquid pearls accents.  This shouldn't be too bad getting through the mail.

I love this little tubby snowman!  This is a Unity stamp
Roly Poly Winter Joy, given to me last winter by
my stamping buddy Kim!

This card was made with more fun, whimsical colors.  When I finished coloring him up, I used some red chalk on his cheeks, makes him look nice and cold!  The sentiment is from a Xmas set I picked up at Michaels last year.  Another simple card that should make it through the mail a-okay!

Made these last night-

                           Fabulous Fruit Bars

Honorable Mention - Contest Recipe 2007! Bake a warm and cozy fruit dessert bar using cookie mix and pie filling, ingredients already in your cupboard.

This is a Betty Crocker recipe, see it here.  Yummmmy!!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

A little Christmas...

TGIF!!  Whoo hoo!  This seemed like a really long week!  I really shouldn't complain though, the girls will be  back in school before I know it.  I spent $20 yesterday just on tissue and hand sanitizer from the girls' school supply list! (Really?  They think they need 4 boxes of tissue per kid!?)  Don't they know I have important stamps to buy!! ;p

On Wednesday, my stamping buddy Kim came over.  We made it our mission to start on some Christmas cards.  The card I have today is for challenges at Anyone For Anya (Christmas theme), and the sketch from The Greeting Farm's Spilicoast Stampers challenge.

This is Simply Anya from TGF.

As you can see, I left her embellishment free, easier mailing.  This was a fun sketch, so I figured if I kept it interesting with fun paper, maybe I wouldn't miss a bunch of embellishments.  The paper I used is from a Teresa Collins Christmas paper pad.  The sentiment is one from a Unity Christmas stamp set, along with the mistletoe that I cut out and put in the corner of the image.  I love her little red lips!!

Have a great Friday everyone!  I will be back tomorrow with a few more xmas cards!

Is It Friday Yet??

I am so off on my days this week!  Totally feels like FRIDAY to me!  Unfortunately it's Thursday, so that means cleaning the house, grocery shopping, etc...

Today I have a Some Odd Girl card to share-

This is Summer Kaylee.

The paper I used is from My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary Jack & Jill Be Happy. (that's a mouth full!)  I know a lot of people don't like coloring black hair, but honestly, it's one of my favorite hair colors to do.  The sentiment I used is from Paper Smooches!!  Archivers just started carrying some of their stamps, and I bought 3 different sentiment sets!  They are clear stamps, so that makes them super handy.  I went light on embellies.  I made the stars myself, with a few star dies, and some embossing powder.  I added baker's twine, and a brad from MME.  Sorry folks, forgot to write down Copics!!

Well, I'm off to change sheets, dust, mop....ughhhh.  Hopefully I will get a little crafting in today too!!

Gift Card

I wanted to share with you another item that I had made for my niece's birthday.  I had bought her a gift card to one of her fav stores, and wanted a cute way to "wrap" it.  I know there are a ton of gift card ideas/tutorials out there, but I kind of made it up as I went.

I used the Lucky Bunnies set from The Greeting Farm.

This is one of my all-time fav stamp sets, it had the best sentiments!  I picked out one of my fun double sided 12 x 12 sheets for this.  I have all of the measurements for this, and I will post it at a later date.  I stamped the balloon a second time to add some fun, and popped it up with a 3d dot.  This was really fun and simple, and I figured she could use it to stick other things in after she uses the gift card!  I kind of think I need to make one for myself! ;)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

She's a Creeper!!

Over the weekend, my husband and I, celebrated the birthday of a dear friend of mine.  She celebrated the big 30! (still a youngin')  I thought Creeper Riley was best suited for my fun-loving, cooler-than-cool, buddy.

I love her attitude!  You can find her at The Greeting Farm!

Yes, it says dude.  One of my favorite words.
(i know, not very lady-like.)

Ok, let me pick my brain for a moment....the paper is from...Echo Park, Happy Days!!  I distressed and stitched down the first layer.  To the right you can catch a small glimpse of another layer that has many of the colors that she is wearing.  Roughed up some blue cardstock and corrugated paper for a few more layers.  I also tied some yellow/white baker's twine around the corrugated paper, and finished it off with a very cool button from Basic Grey.  I added a straight pin and a metal arrow for some funky embellishments.  The word  "dude" was wet embossed with a cool kind of charcoal gray/glittery embossing powder. (looks very cool in person!)

And yes, I actually kept track of copics!  Yay me!

Skin: E51, E00, E11
Hair: E53, E23, E25 (23 & 25 are new, I like them!)
Jacket: B02, B04, B05
Shirt: G000, G00, G02
Pants: C1, C3, C5
Belt: YR14, YR18
Boots: E55, E57 & N8, 100

Whew, I think that's everything!!

July 14, 2012

Today we are celebrating my niece's 13th birthday!  I wanted to make something special for her, something she can hold onto for a while.  Came up with this:

This is Honey from Saturated Canary.  This is what she looked like
before I stuck her in the frame.

I got some great scrapbooking frames from Hobby Lobby.
They are 8x8, perfect size to showcase an image!

When I asked Katelyn what her fav colors are, she said she loves pink and green.  I just happened to have some really fun "diva" paper that I bought from Hobby Lobby, it was a 12x12 piece.  I colored her with my copics, and then mounted her in the center of the 8x8 paper.  I left no corner bare when it came time to embellish.  The top left corner has a few pieces of washi tape on it.  The rest of the embellies were flowers, brads, and  a pin that I had beaded up myself.  I put her name on the left with some alpha stickers from Doodlebug.  I am really happy with how she turned out!  I will probably start framing a lot more often!

Happy birthday Katelyn!!

Yumi & Fumi Release!

Welcome to the Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Blog Hop!
I'm the first one to start off this mini hop so if you've just come here from the Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog then you are on the right track.  If you've just popped in then that's ok too.  If you'd like to participate just continue hopping along and then you will find all the fun details at the end.  The hop starts today and will run until Sunday, July 15th at Noon PST.  That means you have 4 days to hop, comment, and look around.   There will be hidden prizes so be sure to comment on each blog to be in the running.

Now let me introduce you to Fumi with Umbrella!

This stamp is measures 3.25" x 2.43".  But the best part is this stamp is scroll cut and indexed for easy stamping.  That means no cutting and you can see where you stamp!

Isn't she fun!!!  I am in love with her umbrella, and smile! I really like the contrast of colors I used on this card.  I used three different patterned papers on this, which were a gift from some dear friends.  I layered three different nesties behind the image.  The middle scalloped red cardstock was distress with black ink on the edges.  The flowers were from my stash, and I stacked them on top of each other to make the colors more interesting.  I also added a zig zag stitch around the edges for fun!

Copics used-

Skin: E51, E00, E11
Hair: E43, E44, E47
Kimono and Umbrella: R22, R24, R27, R39 & N6, N8, 100

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to become a follower and leave a comment.  Next on the hop is..

Lovely New Beans!

I got out my new Glisten and Shiny Beans, and used them for the fun tutorial made by my buddy Jess M. over at The Greeting Farm!  These were fun CAS cards, and I love the way they turned out!

This one is Glisten. (btw, don't look too
closely at her eyes, I kind of mucked
them up!)

This one is Shiny!  I love her in the orange!

I actually reached for my scraps, and built these up just with the scraps.  They are very whimsical and fun!  Great idea if you are short on time.  See the tutorial here.

I also have some super fun news to share with everyone today!  I am part of a design team for a whole new stamping company!!!  It's call Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts!!  You will have to check them out!  Leanne and Renate have worked very hard, and have created some fabulous stamps that they want to share with everyone.  There will be a mini blog hop running from July 12th through July 15th, you don't want to miss out on the fun!

Tee hee hee..

Oh are you in for some fun today!!  Looky, looky, what I have here from The Greeting Farm...

July is Jess's bday month so Marie decided to have a little fun with our trusty DT coordinator and decided to introduce her as as Sprout!   WS Jess is available in the TGF store beginning today (July 10th) as a digital download.

Isn't she crazy cute!!??

Jess is one of the most awesome gals out there in blog-land.  She is sooo talented, I love looking at her blog daily!  She is always counting her blessings, something we should all do more often.  This card is a reflection of what a beautiful person I think she is!  Here's looking at you kid!

What a fun surprise!  I like to make the most of everyone's birthdays.  Why not have a day dedicated to yourself?  Why not celebrate your life?  Why not eat half of a chocolate cake?  ;)

Awesome new SC!

Look at what I have here, a gorgeous freebie that Krista Smith was giving out over the weekend!  She has a fab hair-do that took me a while to color!  Krista always adds the best details to her images!!  There is also a  challenge going on right now over at Saturated Canary, "Bling it Out!"

Doesn't she have the cutest dress!

Yes, I was in a "peachy" mood!  This was a combo of YR00, YR61, YR65, and YR68. (i think..).  I used patterned paper from My Mind's Eye Howdy Doody pad.  I tried really hard to get a pic of the little gold beads in her hair, but it's just too hard to see.  I sewed on the light green ribbon, then I tied a piece of cream colored twine around it fastening it to a button.  I placed little spots of bling around the card, some in the middle of flowers, others in the corners.  I have many SC images that I haven't even had a chance to color yet!  This definitely makes me want to color the rest of them up!

Isn't she lovely.

I had a blast last week with one of the new releases from The Greeting Farm!  Her name is Do Si Do Anya, and she is beyond cuuuuute!!

I just love her long braids!!

I used one of my fav latest hair combos which is: E43, E44, and E47.  Her dress and bow were paper pieced with a cute pink/brown bandanna type pattern that I had bought from Hobby Lobby quite a while ago.  The patterned paper on the card is from Pebbles Sunnyside pad.    I finally found some corner dies at the store, I was afraid I would have to break down and buy them online!  They are from Sizzix, and I got 3 different corner dies, and one flourish die. (love it!)  I have been hoarding that cute little pink heart button for a very long time, it is from My Mind's Eye.  This card is VERY girly!

My parents recently celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary, and this is the card I put together for them.

I just didn't feel right using an image, so I found some great sentiments online and kind of made it up as I went.  The patterned paper is from MME's Union Square pad.  I used distress inks on the butterfly to help him coordinate with the rest of the card.  I tied on some natural twine, a cute little lock, red flowers from a Michaels trip, a gorgeous cream colored brad from Hobby Lobby, and another cream resin flower.  I also used my latest clearance score, the red and cream polka dot paper was cut with a new Martha Stewart edge punch set.  My parents loved this!

Thank You!

I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all of my blogging buddies!  I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by my blog and leave me such kind comments!  So here are a few thank you cards I want to share with all of you!

All of these were stamped with the new Thank You
background stamp from The Greeting Farm.

No image on the first two cards!!??  GASP!  I know right, kind of weird for me.  The first card at the top was pretty funky, and I totally love it!  I have had acetate sheets laying around forever!  I finally got one out and stamped the background on it with STAZON opaque white ink.  I cut it out with a normal rectangle nestie, then added a few layers under it with the red textured cardstock, and a dry embossed piece of kraft paper under that.  I put down a woodsy looking patterned paper, and a bright ribbon over top for a pop of color.  I believe the brad was from MME, and I used my fun Smash label maker for the "thanks".

The second card was all aqua colored.  I stamped the image on a piece of MME paper, then framed it with plain aqua cardstock. (made it out of two nesties.)  Underneath that is another piece of cardstock that I dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, then hit the edges of it with some Distress ink.  Added some ribbon, a butterfly, some flowers, and a little epoxy embellishment.  I love this color!

On the last card, I used the new Amelia from the Lovey Dovey set.  (the "oh so thankful" is also from TGF.) I colored her on some kraft paper, using only my E copics.  I finally used the brown/red baker's twine I have had forever, it went perfectly!

You can never have too many thank you cards made! (actually, I think my mom snagged most of these up!)

Have a great weekend everyone!

SOG Challenge

Have you seen the sketch challenge over at Some Odd Girl?  It's a really cute CAS design, and I just finished mine today!

This doll is Birthday Mae!

I used a lot of colors on her!

I went bright on her!  I used an older pad from Echo Park-Summer Days for all of the patterned paper.  I also traced around the image with B000, and then added small dots with the light yellow and pink from the colors I used on her outfit.  I kept it pretty simple, and just embellished with some buttons, teal baker's twine, a few flowers, and some pink bling.  (it's very girly!!)

I hope you all have a safe, and fun-filled 4th!

The Happy Couple

Today I have another wedding card that I put together this past weekend.  (it's that time of the year!)

This is Happy Couple from Tiddly Inks.

These two were so fun to color up!  They a little more edgier than your typical wedding images.  I didn't want them to be the same old black and white wedding attired couple, so I added some color with Y26 & Y28 to her wedding dress, and YG95 & YG97 to his jacket.  I used my clear Spica glitter pen on her veil, unfortunately it isn't showing up here. (it looks really cool!)  I colored her roses a deep red, and added a deep red rose as embellishment.  It's pretty simple, but it looks much better in person.
