Happy Memorial Day

First, and foremost, a big thanks to our troops and their families!  They all deserve a lot of love from us today, and everyday!

In our family we will spend part of Memorial Day celebrating our niece's First Communion.  Here is the card that I put together for the occasion!

This adorable gem is Angel Kaylee from Some Odd Girl!

I had so much fun with her, that I decided to do her up in green too!

So many little girls, and so much pink lately!  Gotta move on to some other colors for a while!  I used an older My Mind's Eye pad called Dwell for all of the pink patterned paper, except for the piece behind the sentiment, that is Echo Park Little Girl.  I used washi tape with some baker's twine and a button through the middle.  There are a few flowers held together with a MME brad, and some bling in each corner.

I hope you are all enjoying you holiday weekend!  Just a few more school days for my oldest daughter, and then she will officially be a "high-school-er"!  Man, I'm getting old!!!

Black/White/Color challenge

Yikes, been a while since I posted!  Crazy busy with some other projects!

I have managed to play along with the current challenge over at The Greeting Farm!  The FFF is black, white and one other color.  I had a lot of fun with this!!

This is one of the newest additions to the TGF family, Creeper Riley!  She is so funky, love her attitude!  PINK was my "other" color.  I used colors mostly in the RV family, with a few R's and V's thrown in there.  The sentiment is from TGF's Lucky Bunnies set, along with the heart.  I wet embossed the sentiment and heart, but it never shows up well in pics!  Her hoodie is paper pieced from Echo Park's Little Girl paper pad, along with the background pink plaid and pink/white polka dot surrounding the sentiment.  I used a few pieces of washi tape that I bought looooong time ago! (I always forget I have it!)  Slapped on a few stones and a flower, Voila!

Only a few more days of school, I'm so excited!!!

SOG Facebook challenge

Howdy girlies!!  I just finished my card for the Some Odd Girl Bright Colors Challenge

This is Sweet Tiny Tia!  She is a digital stamp over at SOG.  The bright paper I decided to use is from the Basic Grey paper pad- Lauderdale.  The heart embellishment is actually a pin that the receiver can keep for later.(once they yank of the glue dots!)  I just bought the cute little butterflies at Michaels, they are from Recollections.  I made the middle dark pink rose, and the navy blue crochet flower.  I colored her hair using Kristy's (from SOG) tutorial, you can see it here.  I can't wait to see all of the SOG new releases on Monday!!!

Challenge round-up

Ughhhh, anyone else having problems with Blogger!?  It's probably user error.

I have put together a few cards for some of my fav challenges!

The first is The Greeting Farm's FFF challenge-Monochromatic.

This is Paul from the Roll Call Kit.  I decided to go with blue because I hardly ever use it.  The star paper is from The Paper Studio. (I've had it forever..)  I used a couple different nesties, added a blue striped ribbon, put on a few blue stars for bling, and tied some embroidery thread through a blue star button.  The "superstar" sentiment rubber embellishment is from Close To My Heart.  His hair was done with E50, E53, E35.

This next card wasn't made for any challenges, but I was on a boy roll.

This is Flirty Edward from TGF's Roll Call Kit.  I used paper from Echo Park's Note To Self.  I added some corrugated paper behind the image, I love the texture.  The banner was made with a punch that I bought from Stampin' Up.  The sentiment is from TGF's Lucky Bunnies set.  His hair was done with E31, E33, E35.  This layout is from an old sketch challenge, but I liked it so much the first time, that I decided to do it again!

My next card is for two different challenges:

TGF Spiltcoast Stampers sketch challenge
Anyone For Anya photo inspiration

This is Cheeky Howdy from TGF.  I used paper from Crate Paper's Farmhouse pad, and My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side.  The edge punch is from Martha Stewart.  The sentiment is a Jillibean cardstock sticker.  I used E50, E31, E55 for her hair.

My last card is a fun image from Tiddly Inks.  I made a condolence card for my mom to give to my aunt.

 This is Wryn and Emmy.

These are the Copics I used for their hair.

The paper I used was from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Forever.  I also tied on some natural twine, and used a MME button.  I wet embossed the sentiment, which is from TGF.  Pretty simple layout with lots of flowers.  I really like the colors in this.

That's all for now!  Still have quite a few things on my "to do" list!

I hope you all had a fantastic Mother's Day!!  Mine was pretty super!  I'm afraid I am going to have to show-off for a minute here.  My 7 year old, Maddie, headed up the Mother's Day committee around here and made me several unbelievable gifts!  She put a card together for me that had a colored image from her, Hunter, and my hubby:

These were both made at school. (love that she called me a rock star!)

This new paper cutter was exactly what I told my hubby I wanted!
And this cool bag was free from Michaels for National Scrapbooking Month!!

So as you can see, my day was pretty great!

That's my little mastermind behind some of my wonderful gifts!  These stupid glasses from her school carnival crack me up! (she also got a back-scratcher, she's crazy!)

Last Friday, my bestie Kim and I, went to a small stamping craft fair and found these items:

This isn't supposed to be sideways, don't know what's going on.

I got my first Stamping Betty and Kraftin' Kimmie stamps!!!  We also purchased some products from a company called Close To My Heart.  I had never heard of them before, and they had some really neat stuff!

I have actually finished two cards that are for upcoming weddings! (it's that time of the year!)

This is the Kissy Kissy couple from The Greeting Farm's digital stamps.

The first couple I colored had more earthy tones, while the second was very traditional black/white.  It's a bit tough to make out, but those are little wedding rings tied to the bows.   I thought they were a fun touch and I am glad I grabbed them when I saw them at Hobby Lobby.  Another little detail that is hard to see, is the glitter powder I used on the sentiment.  It's actually embossing powder that I used after I initially stamped the sentiment in black. (never can see the cool stuff in pics!)  I used some MS edge punches on both cards just for a little extra something, without being too girlie!!!  On the first card, I didn't take the punch all the way to the ends, I didn't want to completely remove the bottom edge.  I really like the ribbon on the second card, and I'm going to have to get more wire ribbon like it!  I was pretty happy with their hair.  One of my most favorite hair combos lately is E15, E09, E18. (that's the second girl's hair.)

I am off today to watch a "chick flick" with my friend Kim.  We have to get our movie watching done before the kids get out of school for the summer!  We're going to see "The Lucky One", hope it doesn't make me cry.

My Mother's Day cards

I figure my mom will see her cards today or tomorrow, so I may as well post the pics finally!!

This card was made for my dad to give to my mom.
I used Flower Girl Mae from Some Odd Girl Stamps.

This is from me to my mom.
I used The Greeting Farm's Miss Anya Garland.

I love the SOG image, it's so feminine.  I am going to use it for their current sketch challenge that you can see here.  I used paper from Basic Grey's Olivia pad.  The old fashioned pink embellishment on top of the lace and ribbon is from a new line of brads at Hobby Lobby. (I really love all the cool brads I got!)

The paper on the Miss Anya card is from My Mind's Eye Madison Avenue pad.  I didn't put a whole bunch of little embellishments on it, because I wanted it to survive the mail without looking too mangled!  I was pretty happy with how it looks with just the flower, twine and button.

I hope you all have a super-fab Mother's day!  It might be pretty rainy here in Colorado all weekend, but we'll make do.

For mother

I have a card here that I made for my dad to give to my grandma for Mother's day.  She was diagnosed with ALS a few years ago, and things have been pretty rough.  My parents take very good care of her.

This is Oliver from The Greeting Farm's Surprise set.

I tried to make this a bit on the old-fashioned side.  I love Oliver, and I thought he was perfect to represent my dad.  The paper I used is from Echo Park's This and That pad.  The sentiment was just a little something I printed up on the computer.  I did a zig-zag stitch around the edge, and added ribbon, pearls, and finally some flowers.  I hope this helps brighten her day!

A boy and his dog

My little brother will soon be celebrating a birthday! He recently bought the cutest little beagle pup, that has quickly won over everyones' hearts. So... (J- if you're reading this, turn away now!)

This is Oliver from The Greeting Farm's O & A Buddies Set.

If you look closely, you can see I wrote Max's name in on the dog tag. I used paper from Bella Blvd for all of the patterned paper, and I also used different sizes/styles of my Nesties to create different layers. The only embellishment on here is the natural twine and MME button. I think they are pretty cute!!

Tomorrow I will post some more Mother's day cards. I just don't want to blow my cover!

Tiddly kind of day

I finally got a chance to color up another fun Wryn image.  I have had it for a little while, and I decided it would make a great Mother's day card.

Here is Wryn-Fairy Wishes:

I am entering her into Tiddly Ink's latest challenge-Mom!  I used My Minds Eye pad (Market Street Princess).  I also colored the little pearls with copics to better match the paper.  Threw on some flowers, twine and a few buttons.  The sentiment comes with the image.  I tried to make it "mail" friendly, just in case we need to mail it.

May 5, 2012

I hope everyone is having a great start on their weekend! Maddie and I caught a movie yesterday and hit a bunch my favorite stores.  I picked up a cute Little Yellow Bicycle paper pad, an awesome Martha Stewart around the page punch (clearance- $10!), and some other fun stuff!!  I also got happy mail yesterday, YAY!  Got my new Creeper Riley from TGF, some MME paper, and finally ordered one of the TGF sitting stamps!  I have a lot of new stuff to play with this weekend!

My nephew, Alex, will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow!  We are going to see The Avengers! (can't wait!)  Here's the card I made for his birthday-

This is Dylan from The Greeting Farm's Roll Call Kit.

He is so cool in his little basketball uniform!  I know the paper in the background with the numbers on it is from MME, but I am drawing a blank on where I pulled the polka dot paper from...darn.  I used a lot of different Nesties shapes on this to make several layers.  I LOVE the Jillibean banner stickers that come with some sentiments (and some are empty), I think they are a fun way to get your sentiment on your page in a decorative way.  I added some teal/white baker's twine and tied it through a big silver button from MME.

I also have a teacher card that I forgot to post the other day.

This is one of my all-time favs, Annika.

You know I love me some purple!!!  I used some super fun paper from the Basic Grey Lauderdale pad.  I used a small piece of black card stock, after I used a Nestie on it, and wrote on it with a white pen to make it look like a chalkboard.  The "oh so thankful" sentiment is from TGF.  I tied on some ribbon, added bling, and finally used a school themed brad that I bought a long time ago at Hobby Lobby.  I really like the "chalkboard" behind her, very school-like.

It's going to be a gorgeous day here in Colorado, I hope the rest of you have enjoyable weather too!  I have to crawl out of my "woman cave" once in a while to soak up some sun!

May 4, 2012

Hooray!  Happy Friday everyone!  My little one, Maddie, has the day off from school, so we're going to go see a silly movie and stuff our faces with popcorn!!! (popcorn is one of my main food groups!)  Hunter, unfortunately, is stuck at school today.  She's 14 though, so she probably would rather be stuck at school with friends, then stuck with boring ol' mom all day! ;p

It feels like a silly Wryn kind of day!  I have two things that I put together for my mom.  She didn't really have a special occasion, I think she's just as addicted to this cute little girl like the rest of us!!

These cute little Wryn images are available at Tiddly Inks!

Love me some Wryn!  I used October Afternoon-Sidewalks paper on the top card.  Yellow felt happy, to match her having a blast in that tree!  I used my fav stitch on my sewing machine that makes kind of a whimsical wave.  Ribbon from Joann's, buttons from MME, and some twine!

On the post-it pad, I wasn't sure what to do, because the pad had some funky colors on it.  Luckily I found a MME paper pad of mine, I think it's called Oo La La, that seemed to be a pretty close match!  I Crocheted a flower, and added: baker's twine, bling, pin, and plastic roses.  I like the way her red hair stands out!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!  I will be around here and there.  Maddie has a soccer game Saturday, and we are heading out to see The Avengers movie early Sunday morning for my nephew's birthday, I can't wait!!!!

So behind...

Gosh, feels like I have a lot of catching up to do!

First, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of you wonderful fellow bloggers who came out and shared such warm comments!  The Greeting Farm had a really great May release, and it was so nice to celebrate it with everyone! (I know every one of you ordered Cheeky Geeky!) ;p

I have two cards here that are for TGF challenges.  The first challenge was the FFF challenge, which was this sketch:

Here's mine-

This is Amelia from My Fav Things set.

This is a fun little easel card for my niece's upcoming bday.  I used Doodlebug paper, a Fiskars cupcake edge punch, an American Crafts tag, and a bunch of little embellishments from my stock.  I would also like to enter this into the Anyone For Anya's "Girly" card challenge.

The next TGF challenge is the SCS sketch challenge:

Here's mine-
You all know who she is...Cheeky Geeky!

This is an end of the year thank you card for one of my kiddos teachers.  I used Crate Paper, MS edge punch, Jillibean thank you sticker, MME button, and some yellow/white baker's twine.  I like the background paper, it's a bunch of kid's books!

I also wanted to mention a shop called Stamp and Create.  I had the most pleasant experience with Lacey, and I would urge you to take a look-see!  Stamps, embellishments, paper, dies, need I say more....
