Some Odd Girl

I colored up my first Some Odd Girl stamp!  I love roller skating, and we've been to a ton of skating parties lately, so I picked Roller Mae!

I decided to join their challenge, which was this sketch-

I used paper from Jillibean's Blossom Soup pad.  Lots of sewing.  The sentiment is also from Jillibean.  I kept it very simple because I love the words on the pink paper and I wanted to be able to read it.  I tied some sequin ribbon and pink/white twine around the bottom.  She is a lot of fun!  I'm sure there will be many more of these to come!

Challenge Cards

Today I worked on finishing up two different cards that I started yesterday with my friend Kim. (we had a play date!)

First of all, in case you haven't heard, Tiddly Inks is gearing up for a big birthday celebration!!!  You should really check it out!

So, without further ado, here is my birthday card for Christy!  This is their Challenge for this week, see it here!

This is Wryn and her little buddy Emmy!  I want to pinch their little cheeks!

I decided to use very light colors on these girls, that is something I don't normally do.  The paper is from American Crafts Dear Lizzy pad.  The banner was from Recollections, I've had it foreeeevveeer!  Lots of sewing and kraft paper.

Here's my card.

This is Flirty Edward from TGF's Roll Call Kit. (didn't really play-up the Edward thing.)

This was an interesting sketch!  I'm not even going to tell you how much patterned paper I wasted trying to make my triangles. (didn't make the darn card perfectly square!)  The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Life of the Party pad.  I used corrugated paper to make it more masculine, and used twine for my embellishments.  The stamps for the sentiment are from TGF's Lucky Bunnies set.

Thanks for looking!

Birthday Celebration!

Check out all of the birthday action over at Tiddly Inks!!  Most of you are familiar with these stamps, because I have seen Wryn everywhere!!!!  Her and all of her little buddies over at TI are so fun!

They are teasing us with a few peeks at new things to come next week!  Check it out!

March Madness #3

Just finished up my entry for the March Madness over at The Greeting Farm.  This challenge was titled "Mad About Tea Parties"!  When I first read this I knew exactly who I wanted to use!

This is Freaky Flutter from TGF's digital stamps.

I added the tea cup from TGF's digital Alice In Wonderland set.

The patterned paper is from a Valentine pad I found at Hobby Lobby, The Paper Studio.  I attached my patterned paper with the ol' sewing machine.  I used several different Nestabilities and Cuttlebug dies for several of the shapes on here.  I even kept track of my Copics this time!!

I Feel Pretty

Whew, just finished my card for this past week's Anyone For Anya challenge!  This is the sketch-

I am also using it for The Greeting Farm's Monday Fun Day challenge-"Circles and Scallops".

This is Wild Sprout Chelsea and her ipod.

I used the Basic Grey Sweet Threads, again, because I love the colors!!

I also made a quick bookmark.  It's not anything fancy, but he's just so darn cute!

He's from TGF's Lucky Bunnies clear stamp set.  I paper pieced his ears and tummy to match the patterned paper.   The paper is MME's Lime Twist. (ignore the little speck of red lint)

Get Well

I'm ready for spring break!  Whoo hoo!  My girls are both off this week.  We are lucky they have the same week off this year, last year they were a week apart and that was no fun.

I have two cards to share today.  I realized that I didn't have any get well/sympathy cards, so I put a couple together.

She is so cute working on this injured little bird!

And this little beauty is from Saturated Canary.
Krista Smith is crazy talented!

For Wryn's card I used some paper from the My Minds Eye line, it's called Lime Twist.  I sewed around the edges and throughout the middle.  She just has a few flowers with a glittery brad, and a colorful piece of baker's twine.

For the Saturated Canary card I used some paper from Basic Grey called Sweet Threads. (love the colors in it!)  I am submitting her for their current challenge which is "Twine".  If you look closely, you can see bits of twine in a couple places.  I embellished her with a couple different colors of pearls, a crocheted flower and butterfly I made, and a button.  She is such a sweet image!

Hunger Mania!!!

Josh Hutcherson in "The Hunger Games" (Lionsgate)

Ok, this has nothing to do with anything even close to crafting, but I saw "The Hunger Games" this morning!!!!  Yes, my friend Kim talked me into braving the crowds.  We went as soon as we dropped the kiddos off at school, and honestly, the theater wasn't too bad this morning.  LOVED IT!  I did read the book first, and I am glad I did.  It is nearly impossible to fit every detail from a book into a movie, but this was well done.  Then I wondered what someone who didn't read the book thought about the movie?  I'm sure I will hear soon.  Now I am on a mission to read the last two books.  At least this time I won't have a movie release date looming over my head!

Merry Monday

Hope everyone had a restful weekend!  Here in Colorado, we have been teased with summer-like temps all last week, and now it's cold again.  I hope the weather will perk back up for the kids' spring break next week.(might go crazy if we're all stuck in the house together for a week!)

I finally finished "The Hunger Games"!  It took me a while to get into it, but when I did it went pretty quick.  Now my friend Kim can stop stressing because I am all set to see the movie this weekend! ;p  I like going to the movies with her in the middle of a school day, so relaxing.  It helps that we have almost the exact same taste in EVERYTHING!  Which leads me to stamping-

This is my little Glimmer Bean that finally got her first inking!

She is one of the new additions at The Greeting Farm, and boy is she popular!!  I made this card for the TGF Splitcoast Stampers challenge this past Saturday.

The challenge this week is this sketch-

I have had this ladybug/butterfly paper for a while and finally put it to use. (I think it was Bella Blvd)  Using pink, red, and orange was a fun color combo!  I love her and her cute hair and belly!

I felt like I should have more to post, but the stuff I actually got accomplished this weekend was for my little Maddie.  She sat in my craft room with me all day Saturday and did all sorts of amazing things!  I envied her ability to not over-think every little color she used, and what she was going to make with her images.  She wanted me to help her make a bunch of the corner bookmarks so she could give some to her friends.  She really is a sweet kid.(not posting any pics of her stuff this time, she gets very embarrassed.)

Happy Saturday!

I had fun, the last couple of days, trying to catch up with some challenges.  I may have also made some stuff just because.  I don't know if everyone has seen the new Wryn from Tiddly Inks, but I gotta tell ya, they just keep getting cuter!  Now she has a little buddy!  Go here to check them out! (I will be purchasing them this weekend!)  Speaking of... I just finished the Spring Bling Wryn.

Love her!

I used paper from the new Jillibean Neapolitan Bean Bisque. (wow, that's a mouth-full!)  I used a sentiment from The Greeting Farm's O&A's Just For You set.  Doily, ribbon, flower, and some pearls.  Pretty simple.

Next I worked on the March Madness Challenge for The Greeting Farm- Monochromatic.

This is Dylan from The Roll Call Kit.

Oh yeeeaaaah, I did it alllll green, skin and all!  When I started initially, it looked a little sketchy, but the more greens I added, the more I loved him!  I'm really happy with how he turned out, Lord knows I need more "guy" cards!  The green sprocket looking paper was from Michaels.  (plaid was from scraps)  I rolled out a few stars and used another sentiment from TGF's Fur-ever clear stamp set.  I had fun putting this together!

Last, but not least, my entry for the TGF Splitcoast Stampers Saturday Sketch Challenge-

tgfsc7-jpgThis is the sketch.

Sassy little Cheeky Mate!

I flipped the sketch on it's side.  The paper I used on this is from October Afternoon's Farmhouse.  I don't normally do blonde hair, but after seeing some amazing blonde hair on Naomi's blog, I decided to give it another go! (Naomi provided the Copics she used, I need to keep track better like her!)  Thanks Naomi!  The sentiment is a sticker from Jillibean.  And, you ain't got a thing, if you ain't got that bling!  I can't believe it took me so long to ink her up, I've had her for quite a while.

I am in the process of reading "The Hunger Games", and will hopefully finish before it comes to the theaters next week!  It's a little tough because I'm getting really stressed out for the poor girl in the story!!!  Wish me luck!

Have a great weekend!!!

March 14, 2012

I have a few lovely Wryns, from Tiddly Inks, that I would like to share with you today!  Once you start coloring her, you just can't stop!

I used MME paper (portabello rd) on this one.

This one was made with MME (lime twist) paper.

And finally, this one was made with Crate paper (farmhouse) pad.

If you want to buy either of these Wryns, go here!  If you would like the bookmark tutorial for the last pic, go here!

I am off to whip up some stuff for a couple of fun challenges I saw this morning. (told myself to make more guy cards)  Later!

March muchness

There is a special March challenge going on over at The Greeting Farm!  The first challenge is titled "Mad About You!"  And who better to use, than this cute little girl who seems to be loving her cat to death! he he

This sweetie pie is from the Fur-Ever clear stamp set from TGF.

I just love the paper in the October Afternoon Sidewalks pad!  So fun and happy!  I added the blue and yellow ribbon/lace, and some fun twine.  I have had this flower for eveeeerrrr and I think it has finally found a home! (Walmart clearance!)  I had also purchased a little pennant/flag kit from October Afternoon, quite some time ago, and I love how much fun it adds!  Lots of zig-zag stitching, some pearls, and my good ol' Nestabilities!

Another TGF challenge that I am participating in is from Monday's Fun Day-Black and White!  I thought this would be great inspiration for my nephew's birthday card!

This is a fun stitch I found on my sewing machine!

This is Tyler from TGF's Creepin Kit.

And yes, I know, black & white challenge, but the blue looks so stinkin' cool!

I got out the Cuttlebug and used a new embossing folder I bought from Hobby Lobby, and then I ran some black ink over it to add a little interest.  The black and white patterned papers were also a Hobby Lobby purchase.  I have the worst time embellishing boy cards, so I just have a metal peace brad and a few buttons.  I should make a few more guys while I'm on a roll!

March 12, 2012

I'm baaaack...

Hope everyone had a fantastic day-light-savings weekend. (I hate time changes)  I kept pretty busy, and got a few cards done.

I found the cutest dog on Whimsie Doodles!  He is too funny!

This image is titled "Dog Martini".

I needed a guy card, and I thought he was perfect!  I kept him pretty simple with a button and twine for embellishment.  The patterned paper is from Bella Blvd. (gotta find more of that, I love that pattern!)  He was lots of fun to put together!

I also felt like coloring up a Cheeky girl from The Greeting Farm.

This is Cheeky Cherry Pie.  She's "old-school"!

I used some October Afternoon paper for both the dots and the cute little menu.  I colored her a bit patriotic with bright reds and blues.  I haven't really put many embellishments on there aside from the ribbon, still debating on if I want any more.

My friend Kim and I went on a bit of an adventure today, looking for a small scrap booking store, far away, that carried Xpress and Neenah paper.  I don't know about you guys, but I hate waiting for mail, and I hate paying for shipping.  It took us a while, but we finally found it and stocked up!  I still don't understand why places like Archivers, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels, don't carry some of these essentials!??  We had fun, even though we were lost for a while!

I hope to have some more card pics within the next day or two.  I'm totally disorganized right now from all of the stuff I was working on over the weekend, it's making my OCD work over-time! (can't see a square inch of the top of my craft table!  Ahhhhhh!!)

March 7, 2012

Short and sweet

This will be brief, got another sick kid!

Cracked open my cute little Shimmer Bean to play along with the Friday Spy Day challenge at The Greeting Farm.  This challenge is case-ing Kanatanewf's card:

Here's mine:

I LOVE her!  These new "Beans" are too cute!  I  used a MME paper pad, Happier.  Lots of Copics, and glitter pens. (hard to see)  I'm not very good at embellishing with flowers, but I tried.

Got to go! (like I said, brief!)

March 6, 2012

On the mend

Man, it's been a while since I've been able to sit down and do some "work"!  Since my daughter, Maddie, is an over-achiever, she decided to get the stomach flu on top of her strep throat!  Good Lord, it was a long weekend!  Now I'm just praying that the rest of us don't end up with it! (poor kid)

Yesterday was a good day to send everyone off to school and start working on some of the challenges that I have been eye-balling.

First, I have a Saturated Canary card that I am entering into their "Doilies" challenge.

This image is called "Wash Day".

I used a new paper pad I bought last weekend, it's Dear Lizzy- Neapolitan.  I also crocheted a flower out of some pretty variegated embroidery floss I found a couple months ago.  Since the challenge is about doilies, I used a heart shaped one that I found around Valentine's day from Hobby Lobby.  I mounted my image to card stock that I had cut with a Nestabilities die.  And yes, I bought those fun little clothes pins just for this image! (couldn't resist!)

The other card I finished is for Tiddly Inks "fabric fun" challenge.  I finally got around to printing up my Wryn- Howdy Cowgirl!

I can't hardly stand how cute she is!

This card needed to have some fabric on it somewhere, so I found an old pair of Maddie's jeans that had a hole in them, and cut out a patch to make the star with.  I had never ran fabric through my Cuttlebug before, and since the denim is pretty thick, I ended up cutting the star in several places to get my shape out.  I didn't go too crazy with embellishments, because let's face it, she's the star of the show!  I had found this patterned paper at Hobby Lobby a long time ago, and I just knew I would eventually have a use for it!  A little ribbon, some twine, and a button...Voila!
