Monday Fun day challenge

Here's my card for The Greeting Farm's Monday Fun day challenge.  Your card needs to have a key and/or a heart on it.  It also needs to be a TGF image.

This is Nahla from the Roll Call Kit.(I'm a sucker for a kid in overalls!)

I used October Afternoon Sidewalks paper.  This was one of the few attempts I've made to start creating more of a background for an image that was not "fussy" cut out.  Gotta start somewhere!

Happy Monday!?

I was able to work on a few things this weekend, but I mostly sat and pouted because I wished I was at CHA!  There were quite a few lucky girls who did get to go, and I can't wait to see what they have to show us this week!

I made a simple card for someone who's having a bad day-

This is a Unity stamp that was given to me by my friend Kim.

It's pretty simple.  I just used kraft paper, brown/polka dot embossed card stock, and a piece of blue card stock.  Finally used the tiny white button brads I purchased a long time ago!  This stamp cracks me up!

I am often looking at a blog done by Emily Martina (love her style!), who's work I see on TGF, SCS, and a ton of other places.(her blog is listed on the right, beans scraps & sheep)  A few of her recent cards inspired this one-

This is Dress up Ian from The Greeting Farm.  (retired)

It's very simple, but I love the hole in the front of the card.  I forgot to write down what copics I used. (sorry)  I used my Blossom Nestabilities die for the initial hole, and then I used the largest and next size down to create a frame.

And lastly, my entry for the new TGF challenge on SCS.  It will be a weekly challenge, every Saturday, and it will be posted on SCS

This week was a sketch:

Here's my card-
This is Ian from Later Sk8er.

Copics used.

I think the paper was all Bella Blvd, but I'm not certain.  I cut off the little edge with the name. (ooops)

As you can see, I tried to get some boys in this weekend.  I'm bad about neglecting them.

Just the other day I decided to order the Spellbinders Presto Punch Machine.

Presto Punch Machine

I haven't received it in the mail yet, but should be here any day now.  I am curious if any of you have bought this, and if you have any tips for me.  The darn thing takes 8 AA batteries, or you can buy an ac adapter for almost $30.  I decided to wait and see how much I like it before I shell out the money for the adapter.  It only cuts smaller sized items, but the dies are pretty affordable, and it looks kind of fun!

Have a great week!

Yay me!

I actually finished 2 whole cards today!  That's a record for me!  I created them both so that I can enter them into The Greeting Farm's two challenges.

Miss Anya Hats Off.

Copics used.
Naughty or Nice Set. (oooh so naughty!)

Copics used.
Paper used on both.

The first card is for Monday Fun Day #17, and the second is for Friday Spy Day #16.

I got Happy Mail today!!!!!

Can't wait to crack these babies open!  I actually have outgrown my box that I had everyone in, and need to get another!  (only took me a year!)

Let your love show

Today  finally can say I have completed my first Valentine's day card!  I have been wanting to crack open the new paper pads I bought, and all the cute embellishments that have come out!  Most of these cards will probably just go to my hubby and girls, but I might make some extras for teachers, friends, etc....

Jade from The Greeting Farm's Roll Call Kit.
I just love her outfit!

Copics used.

And paper pad.

I also finished the other Wryn image from Tiddly Inks.

Wryn- Grow a Little Love.

Copics used, forgot flower colors. (ooops)
And I used October Afternoon paper.

Today I am hoping I will get around to making something for the TGF Farm Fresh Challenge:
Use a doily or lace, that's it!  Simple enough! (it will still take me all day, I'm sure.)

January 23, 2012

I hope everyone that stopped by the TGF Chit Chat Night, on Splicoast, enjoyed themselves!  I had a blast!  I don't know if time has ever flown by so fast.  I can't believe some of the fantastic ideas that people had. (actually I can, TGF fans are super talented!)  If you want to take a peek at our "Night at the Bookstore" themed projects, go here!  Thanks again for letting me host, Jessica!

Now, I know that many of you have already grabbed the new cutie pie from Tiddly Inks.  Her name is Wryn, and she is to die for!  I finally got to play a little this weekend, and here's one of my cards with her:
This image is simply titled "Wryn".

Copics I used.

I used my Echo Park "Little Girl" paper for the heart and stripe pattern.  Tried to do some glitter at the end of the wand, but it looks a little weird.  Maybe I will stick with just glitter marker next time! (oops)  She is really fun to color!

Unfortunately that's all I have for now.  I plan on being very busy this week in my craft room, so hopefully I will have more to share soon! (expecting a lot of happy mail soon too!)

Back to normal.

I am ready for Friday!!  I have finally gotten back to a normal routine after the holidays, birthdays, and my unexpected trip out of town for my grandmother's funeral.  I have daily routines, and if I get off-track, it completely screws everything up for me.

I have to give my hubby credit for getting me a fabulous b-day present!

OMG!  An awesome LED/LCD TV for my craft room!  Now I'll never leave this room!

I don't know about you guys, but I hit the Shop Hop on SCS pretty hard over Christmas!  Mostly paper.  Couldn't pass up  the great discounts!!

I needed more Xpress It Blending paper.  And I NEEDED some more paper pads! ;)  Then, just when I thought I had hit the jack-pot with my paper, I was out and about, and decided I needed more!!!
Darn Archivers.

Cute new Valentine stuff from Michaels!

Now how about I get busy and actually make something with all of my new treasures!!

Check back with me tomorrow for a fun announcement!

Sad news..

Happy 2012!  Hope everyone had a great new year.

My year, unfortunately, started with the passing of my Grandma.  She was a wonderful woman who lived to tell the tale of having 13, yes, 13 kids!  I lost count of all the grand kids.  I will be flying to Montana this weekend for her funeral.  I will miss her dearly.

I now have a 7 year old, and a 14 year old!  Holy crap that makes me feel old!

A wonderfully talented friend of mine, who got me started in all this card making business, made some awesome cards for both of my daughters' birthdays!

Aww... cute little cowgirl with pigtails, just like my Maddie!

And some steamy Twilight lovin' for Hunter!

To see more fantastic work from my buddy Kim, go HERE!

Now, let's not forget her son, Jack, also has a birthday mixed in with all the Christmas madness!  December 28th!  This is what I threw together for him-

I can't get enough of him!  I will probably use him for the next ten male cards I need to make! ;)

My awesome little girl, Maddie, made me a fabulous card for my upcoming birthday.

Bless her heart!  She worked on it in secret all afternoon in her room.  I LOVE IT!

Before I leave for Montana, I wanted to make something special for my Aunt.  She took fantastic care of my Grandma, and I want her to know how much everyone appreciates it.

Copic colors, just for reference.

Sweet Anya from The Greeting Farm.

I used a little light blue chalk around the inside edge to match the base color of my patterned paper.  I totally lost the name of my patterned paper, and I made a resolution to start keeping the info of what I am using!  I stitched across the top of the card, and decided to go around the heart in a "messy" fashion.  Threw on a button and some bling, and voila!  I felt this image conveyed the feeling I wanted to get across in this card.

Have a great weekend, and do some crafting for me!
